We started Great Barrier Island's original all-inclusive roof top tent car rental company back in 2021, and have proudly hosted over 450 travellers across 200 bookings in our short 5 years. Stay High Island Camping Co on Great Barrier Island aims to provide visitors with an affordable way to make the most out of a trip to the island, providing a unique transport and accommodation package in one.

We offer adventurers our Stay High Adventure Package – a Nissan XTrail with a Feldon Shelter Rooftop Tent and all the camping gear, with the ability to add on even more camping equipment for larger groups, as well as surfboards, and even fresh organic vegetables from our home garden. Our Stay High Adventure Package provides elevated sunset views and gets you even closer to the famous night sky of The Barrier, while you sleep in the unmatched comfort of the Feldon Shelter atop your Xtrail. This is perfect for couples, friends, and families looking for a unique way to experience the island.

We also supply standard “car only” rentals without camping gear at a discounted price as well as “camping gear only” packages. This way, if you are coming to the island with your own vehicle, you can rent our gear on its own.
